With the forecasted front,
Jason and I
decided to try
the beach. We
hit the beach
around 5:00
and with the
terrible driving, made
it to our
spot by 7:00. Larger sharks
were our intention,
so I snuck
a couple of
monster baits past
the 3-5
foot waves. I
also dropped the
only whiting I
could manage right
before dark. As
we were waiting
for our first
run, our buddies
Justin and Hunter
showed up. Not
long thereafter my
Daiwa SHV takes
off. After a
half an hour
fight, I land
this nice female
Black Tip.

After a
couple of missed
runs on casted
baits, we decide
to get some
sleep. The next
morning I reeled
in the big
baits and began
to deal with
the increasing weed
problem. Sam, Jason
and I all
start taking baits
out just after
sunrise. Lots of
runs and drops
but finally I
hook into a
good fish.

before, lots of
runs and the
weed was becoming
more of a
problem. Right before
we pack up,
Jason picks off

We had
a great time
and were fortunate
to take advantage
of the short
fishing window. On
the way back
we noticed huge
mats of weed
washing in. Looks
like Spring is
here to stay.
